World of Concrete products showcased

A number of products were shown at the World of Concrete from June 8-10 at the Las Vegas Convention Center. The show has been serving the global concrete and masonry construction industries for 46 years.

The show featured original equipment manufacturers from around the world and exclusive U.S. distributors of equipment, tools, products and services for the commercial construction, concrete and masonry industries. Some of the products featured included:

 

Briggs & Stratton power solutions

The single-cylinder Vanguard 400 engine from Vanguard, a brand of Briggs & Stratton, Milwaukee, is equipped with electronic fuel injection (EFI) and electronic throttle control (ETC). The engine was part of the Vanguard product lineup at the show, which also included a commercial lithium-ion battery pack, propane-powered engine and a full lineup of single-cylinder horizontal shaft engines.

The 14.0-gross-hp engine is launching in March 2022. The engine is designed for reduced noise and vibration levels along with easy starting and longer maintenance intervals. The engine also features a patented, Vanguard-exclusive, TransportGuard® system and fully integrated cyclonic air cleaner with advanced AutoShed technology.

 

Doosan Infracore North America wheel loader

The 271-hp DL380-7 wheel loader from Doosan Infracore North America, Suwanee, Ga., is one of the company’s new -7 Series wheel loaders and replaces the DL350-5. The standard bucket capacity of the DL380-7 has 7 percent greater capacity than the DL350-5. The machine also features stronger, larger axles and a strengthened box frame. A new cab offers controls relocated for easier, more intuitive use.

A standard rearview camera provides an additional view of the machine’s surroundings and appears on the Doosan Smart Touch display. Operators can raise or lower and angle the display to a comfortable viewing position without tools. The machine has an operating weight of 44,919 lbs., a bucket capacity of 4.8 cu. yd., a dump height of 9 ft. 11 in., a hinge pin height of 13 ft. 8 in., and a static tip load (straight) of 36,198 lbs.

 

Honda Engines electrified power unit

The 14.1-lb. eGX advanced electrified power unit from Honda Engines, Alpharetta, Ga., is the company’s first lithium-ion battery-powered motor designed to be incorporated into original equipment manufacturer (OEM) power equipment products for indoor and outdoor use. The motor can be interchanged with a Honda GX internal combustion engine on selected outdoor power equipment, including rammers and vibratory plate compactors.

A high-power, three-phase brushless DC motor is designed to increase performance and reliability, the company says. The sealed motor and battery pack are dust and water resistant.

 

Husqvarna Construction battery power cutter

The K1 PACE from Husqvarna Construction, Jonsered, Sweden, is the first product to be launched on the company’s new PACE battery system. The system can be utilized for more machines as the battery-powered family expands, the company says. In addition to the power cutters and battery system, diamond blades in 12-in. and 14-in./300 and 350 mm have been optimized for battery operation. The machine also is equipped with X-Halt® brake function capable of stopping the rotation of a blade in a fraction of a second for enhanced safety. The sales start will take place during the second half of the year, starting in the Nordic countries. More technical data will be released at the start of sales.

 

Xtreme Manufacturing fixed boom telehandler

The 65,000-lb. Xtreme XR1585-C fixed boom telehandler from Xtreme Manufacturing, Henderson, Nev., is described by the company as the world’s tallest fixed boom telehandler. The machine delivers a maximum lift height of 85 ft. and is the company’s first telehandler to utilize a five-section boom design. Capable of lifting loads weighing up to 15,000 lbs., the machine benefits from a 67-ft. maximum forward reach and is available with a choice of a fixed, fork positioning, swing or side tilt C-class carriages. The machine is powered by a 173-hp 4.5L Cummins Tier 4 diesel engine and features a 100-gal. fuel tank.

The machine is 102 in. wide, has a stowed height of 10 ft. 1 in. and a turning radius of 16 ft. 8 in. and also wide stance outriggers as standard for maximum stability. The telehandler has 360-degree visibility from the cab, a fully-rotated boom lift point and long-life boom rollers for smooth operation. The machine can be configured with a choice of open cab, enclosed cab, and enclosed cab with heat and air conditioning, as well as various tires, fork tines and options, including telematics.
