Holiday cheer was in abundant supply during the ARA of Colorado party that took place Dec. 8 at Dave & Buster’s in Denver.
The party offered an opportunity for those in the Colorado rental industry to celebrate with friends, network, enjoy delicious food, play all kinds of games and have the chance to win some great prizes.
It turned out to be just what the rental operators needed.
“We go every year and take any employee who would like to go with us. We always go because it is a great end-of-the-season event and everyone is ready to have a good time,” says Tricia Steinbock, owner, Best Event Rentals, Fort Collins, Colo., who added that this year’s gathering was no exception.
“We all took part in the game competition in which we were split up and put on teams of five. Each of us received a card to play as many games as we could and collect as many points as we could in 30 minutes. The team with the highest points split $250. While I didn’t win this year, it was fun to get out there and be a kid for a while. Everyone from Best Event Rentals walked away with something, from T-shirts to baseball hats and things like that. One in our group also won a battery-operated charger,” she says.
Scott Goodwin, president, All Seasons Rent All of Aurora, Aurora, Colo., couldn’t agree more.
“It’s always such a fun event and a good time to get our co-workers together. We had a table of 17, which comprised our employees, their family members and/or other loved ones. The event is good for teambuilding and camaraderie. We are always ready to go,” he says.
Those from Goodwin’s group did not leave empty-handed, either. “My wife was on the team that split the $250, so she came home with a $50 Visa gift card. In addition, about eight people in our group came away with some kind of neat prize, from bottles of liquor to a diamond blade and lots of swag bundles from our associate members,” he says.
For Goodwin, it was a night to connect with others. “Everyone had a good time. There was a full house. We had a chance to network and talk with some of our friendly competitors. It was just so wonderful to see everyone in person. We weren’t able to have the event last year, so being together this year was great,” he says.
Meagan Priest, manager, Chair Rental, Englewood, Colo., who serves as ARA of Colorado vice president, was elated that the event turned out so well.
“It was a great party. We had a little more than 75 attendees. It was so nice to go around, meet everyone and talk. The food was very good, too. Dave & Buster’s didn’t disappoint. Everyone also seemed to enjoy the games. The basketball was a favorite. Every time I looked over there, I saw a line. Another favorite was the skee ball. Jeff [Jackson, owner, All Purpose Rental & Sales, and ARA of Colorado president] did such a fabulous job of securing great prizes, and Matt [Gershaw, general manager/owner, All Seasons Rent-All, Greenwood Village, Colo., and ARA of Colorado board member] was able to get a lot of free swag from our vendors. I think everyone had a good time as people stayed late, which, to me, means they didn’t want to go home,” she says with a laugh.
It was a night to remember, Steinbock and Goodwin say.
“I want to thank everyone who was on the leadership team of the ARA of Colorado who put this together. We all had a fun time,” Steinbock says.
Goodwin agrees. “We really appreciate the ARA of Colorado offering this and getting everyone together. It was great,” he says.
