ARA of Virginia welcomes new leadership team members

In July, the ARA of Virginia board of directors welcomed the following industry professionals who stepped up to serve as members of the state chapter’s leadership body for the first time or after a hiatus from board service.

David Darby III
Manager/wedding and event specialist · Rent-E-Quip · Colonial Heights

Established in 2000, Rent-E-Quip is a family-owned-and-operated business that provides rental equipment to customers as diverse as contractors, wedding planners, mechanics and anyone in need of simple lawn care supplies.

Darby began working at Rent-E-Quip nine years ago during weekends and summer breaks while in high school. After initially working in inventory maintenance, he graduated to a managerial role on the sales team. Today, Darby handles contract management and design consultations in addition to managing company advertising, online presence and branding. He also specializes in planning and coordinating weddings and events.

Aside from his duties with Rent-E-Quip, Darby has worked as a freelancer for E-Sports Coach, where he instructed students and aspiring teams via Video on Demand (VOD) reviews, live analysis and frame by frame breakdowns to improve their game play. He is an active member of National Association of Catering and Events (NACE), Richmond Weddings, and the Colonial Heights and Petersburg Chamber of Commerce.

Charlie Drummond
Chief operating officer/general manager · Rental Works · Richmond

Founded in 1986, Rental Works provides construction and general tool rental equipment to both contractors as well as DIY clients.

Drummond is an experienced sales professional skilled in negotiation, operations management, customer relationship management and construction. He has experience working for several different rental companies and brings more than 13 years of industry experience to the ARA of Virginia board.

Drummond received his Bachelor of Science in general studies from Shepherd University, Shepherdstown, W.Va. He works collectively with the Uncommon Grit Foundation and Bone Frog Open Golf Tournament to raise funds for veterans and first responders.

Tina Behnke Spencer
Customer experience officer · AirPac Portable Air Conditioners & Heaters · Front Royal

AirPac Portable Air Conditions & Heaters provides portable air conditioning sales and rentals. The company has been in operation since 1991.

Behnke Spencer has been associated with AirPac for more than 33 years. She assists special event clients with coordinating climate control for events. Behnke Spencer earned her Bachelor of Science in management information systems and economics from James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Va.
