TLC Rents hosts ‘CARES’ day event

Sep. 13, 2020

On Saturday, Aug. 29, 2020, TLC Rents, Atlanta, participated in the nationwide “CARES” day by hosting an event to show appreciation to health care workers who have worked on the frontlines during the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

“We wanted to do something special for our local frontline workers and give back to our community,” says Reuben Ayoub, CERP, president, TLC Rents. “When I heard about the tent rental industry's nationwide ‘CARES’ day, I knew this was a perfect way for TLC Rents and its employees to show appreciation and support.”

The “CARES” day events were independently put together by members of the American Rental Association (ARA); Industrial Fabrics Association International (IFAI), Tent Rental Division (TRD); Manufacturers and Tent Renters Association (MATRA); other manufacturers and those directly in the tent rental community.

TLC Rents’ “CARES” day event featured an outdoor lunch — following the proper social distancing rules — at MetroAtlanta Ambulance Service in Cobb County. The company partnered with four local barbecue restaurants to provide lunch to emergency medical technicians (EMTs) and paramedics from MetroAtlanta Ambulance Service, COVID-19 health care workers from Wellstar Kennestone Hospital and firefighters from the Marietta Fire Department.

The frontline workers who attended the event enjoyed specialties from well-known — and some brand new — Marietta, Ga., barbecue restaurants such as Williamson Brothers Bar-B-Q; The BBQ Place; Major Q BBQ & Catering; and BayouQ located in historic Roswell, Ga.

“The event was so rewarding for us and very much appreciated by those we served,” Ayoub says. “After the event, Devan Seabaugh, vice president of administration at MetroAtlanta Ambulance Service, sent us a beautiful thank you.”

“I want to thank you, TLC Rents, and all your BBQ partners and volunteers for spending this Saturday celebrating our team members,” Seabaugh stated in his message of appreciation to TLC Rents. “Our medics and support personnel put themselves out there every day caring for others in need and none of them feel like the courageous heroes they really are. Your team made them feel appreciated and special. I know there were many other places y’all could have been on a beautiful Saturday afternoon, so please know the commitment and presence of your entire team was very much appreciated.”
