Komatsu upgrades tracked feller bunchers

Aug. 02, 2020

The line of XT-5 tracked feller bunchers from Komatsu, Chattanooga, Tenn., have been upgraded with more horsepower and travel speed. The XT430-5, XT445L-5 and XT465L-5 models were introduced in 2018 and advancements have been made based on customer feedback, the company says.

The XT-5 machines let customers travel and operate the swing, arm and tool simultaneously for maximum usability. Horsepower has increased from 310 to 331 hp to the Cummins QSL9 engine along with increased hydraulic flow. Lighting elements have been added to improve nighttime visibility.

Other highlights include accessible service points and gull-wing hood engine access, increased lift capacities, left-positioned forestry cab, customizable operator controls, and a Komtrax® remote equipment monitoring and management telematics system.
