ARA Foundation offers financial assistance for essential training

Nov. 20, 2022

The downtime that can occur in the dark and dreary winter months can be a bright opportunity for you to offer essential skills training for your employees — and save money in the process — thanks to the ARA Foundation’s Employee Training Assistance Program.

This program can pay for 50 percent — up to $2,500 — of the types of training that will build your employees’ skills and keep your operation competitive.

Examples of common training areas covered by the program include:

  • American Rental Association (ARA) Certified Sales and ARA Certified Service
  • ARA Box Truck Training
  • ARA Professional Driver Education Program
  • ARA Certified Event Rental Professional (CERP) program
  • Welding
  • Hospitality services
  • Commercial driver’s license (CDL)

Trainings do not need to be ARA-branded programs but must support a career in the equipment or event rental industry.

The savings on training offered through the Employee Training Assistance Program benefited MK Equipment in Honolulu, according to a key member of the company’s staff.

“We were able to receive some [financial] help for the ARA Certified course that I applied for through the ARA Foundation’s Employee Training Assistance Program. That’s a huge bonus for a small company like ours,” says Julai Kanani Kaulu, an administrative assistant with MK Equipment, who enrolled in the ARA Certified Sales program that provides knowledge for employees responsible for customer interactions, digital marketing, and more.

The deadline to apply for a fourth-quarter distribution is Dec. 31.
