BOMAG Americas stabilizer models

BOMAG Americas, Ridgeway, S.C., introduced two new tractor-towed stabilizer models during the company’s BOMAG Innovation Days 2022 event on Thursday, Sept. 15, at its Ridgeway, S.C., facility.

The RS 250 and RS 300 are designed for many construction sites, increasing tractor utilization at the site, the company said. The RS 250 offers a 99.2-in. cutting width and 15.7-in. depth, and can be paired with tractors in the 200- and 300-hp class. The RS 300 can cut a 98.4-in.-wide path at depths reaching 19.7 in. and can be operated by tractors in the 300- to 450-hp class range. Both models offer easy coupling to the tractor with a three-point hitch.

Sliding height-adjustable side plates allow for variable mixing depths, while their large hydraulically adjustable rear flap ensures perfect material gradation exiting the mixing chamber. An optional water injection system, complete with pump, evenly distributes water across the entire milling width at rates up to 132 gal./min.

The company also introduced the BS 16 binder spreader. The towed spreader offers a maximum distribution width of 7.9 ft. and can be mechanically reduced to a 3.3-ft. width in four stages. To ensure even binder distribution, the machine has a computer-controlled automatic quantity control, letting the operator set the width and deliver even results every time, the company said. The automatic system adjusts with the speed of the vehicle.

A radar sensor detects towing speed to ensure proper material distribution, and the spreader can be towed at up to 15.5 mph.
