The driver carefully pulled into the parking lot to make his way to the loading dock. He had a delivery to complete, and he painstakingly followed the directions provided. He backed in as requested and climbed out of his truck. He opened the rolltop door and unloaded the items onto the dock.
The warehouse employee verified the order and signed for the rental equipment. The driver closed the door and went around to the driver’s side to get in his truck. As he climbed up, the truck started rolling. In his haste to make the delivery on time, he had forgotten to chock his wheels.
He hurried to open the door and get into the driver’s seat to put his foot on the brake. He didn’t make it in time. The delivery truck rolled into the passenger rear side of a car parked in the lot, pushing it into another vehicle that was parked in an adjacent parking spot.
Remind your drivers that is it always best to have safety top of mind, even if it means taking a little more time.
