General Pipe Cleaners drain cleaner

The 30-lb. model DRZ-PH-O™ power drain cleaner from General Pipe Cleaners, A Div. of General Wire Spring Co., McKees Rocks, Pa., offers rental customers a quick, clean way to clear clogged sink, tub and laundry drains in 1.25- to 3-in. lines. A 4-ft. guide tube means renters never have to touch the cable, the company says.

The machine can be operated horizontally on kitchen counters or vertically on floors next to tubs. Equipped with a silent motor, the machine’s pneumatic foot pedal keeps hands free to control the feed and guide hose. A carrying handle atop the frame is designed for transport.

The open cage carries up to 50 ft. of 0.25- or 0.3125-in., or 35 ft. of 0.375 Flexicore® cable. The cable is made of heavy-gauge wire coiled tightly around 49-strand aircraft-type wire rope and heat treated.
