The 18V MultiVolt one-handed compact reciprocating saw (model CR18DAQ4) and 18V MultiVolt jig saw (model CJ18DAQ4) from Metabo HPT, Braselton, Ga., are part of the company’s expanding MultiVolt System that connect the 18V and 36V line of tools with the company’s flexible MultiVolt battery that powers it all.

The CR18DAQ4 one-handed reciprocating saw accepts both 18V batteries and MultiVolt batteries from Metabo HPT for up to 8 amp hours of runtime/charge. The saw can accept reciprocating saw blades and t-shank jig saw blades. The tool body weighs 2.9 lbs. and is 13.8 in. front to back. The saw delivers a no-load speed up to 3,200 strokes/min. (spm) and the variable trigger allows the user to cut through various materials like plywood and PVC pipes without heavy vibration. A tool-less adjustable shoe provides more points of contact than a fixed shoe and can maximize blade life.

The CJ18DAQ4 MultiVolt jig saw also accepts both 18V batteries and MultiVolt batteries from Metabo HPT for up to 8 amp hours of runtime per charge. The cordless tool produces 2,500 spm. The tool has four speed settings. Three orbital action modes make a noticeable difference in how fast you can cut, the company says. A D-handle design with soft vibration reducing grip is well balanced in the hand and lets the user work longer with less fatigue.
