ARA Job Board supports workforce development efforts

Since its launch in April, the American Rental Association (ARA) Job Board already has reached more than 40,000 unique users — employers and job seekers. That robust number is significant when you, as a rental operator, are looking to find the right qualified candidate to fill a position at your business.

The majority of those unique users are job seekers, according to Dan Sharp, ARA director of marketing, and Keith Pearson, ARA’s new director of rental industry workforce development. Those people are looking at the nearly 4,000 jobs posted on the site.

“Every single job that is listed on the site is shared and posted on other top sites, including Military.com and Circa, and we are currently working with Career Builder, Google for Jobs and Facebook for Jobs as potential partners as well,” Sharp says.

“This is the biggest benefit of what we are doing in workforce development. Once they post on our job board, that position gets shared and dispersed to all these other job networks that we have partnerships with. The beauty is that our members only have to post in one place and pay only one fee to do it,” Sharp says.

ARA members also are eligible for five free 90-day postings by using the promo code ARA-5Free to access the promotion.

ARA sees the job board and its overall workforce development initiative as such high priorities that it has moved Pearson from his human resources position into a newly created position to oversee the effort. In addition, ARA has dedicated a comprehensive digital marketing campaign to support the efforts of the job board.

“We are staying aggressive with all digital tactics. We are going to hit folks in as many places as we can through their online journey,” Sharp says.

In addition, “the ARA Job Board is being heavily promoted to the diesel schools and driver programs we have developed relationships with throughout the U.S. and Canada,” Pearson says, adding that the association also is currently developing lists for the event rental segment.
