The American Rental Association has been a vital resource for Colorado rental operation

Matt Gershaw, general manager/owner, All Seasons Rent-All, Greenwood Village, Colo., can’t remember a time that his family wasn’t part of the American Rental Association (ARA), particularly the Colorado chapter.

“I have been involved with the ARA of Colorado since I was a kid,” he says. “We used to do local shows here. I would go with my dad and help set up. I also have been going to The ARA Show™ since I was 10 or so. It was not just being able to buy equipment, but it also was the people interaction you get — the sharing of ideas and friendships.”

When he joined the family business full time, Gershaw made sure he got involved with the ARA of Colorado. He started his service on the ARA of Colorado board in 1995. After a few years off the board, he returned and continues to serve to this day.

For Gershaw, it’s a way to have a say. “I feel like if you don’t step up, put your vote in, speak your mind or say how you are feeling, nothing will change or go your way. If you are not involved, you have to accept what is there. If you are involved, however, you help decide what is happening. Besides, you get so much more out of it than you put into it,” he says, adding that he encourages others to do the same. “Volunteer. It is worth it,” he says.
