Hello, American Rental Association (ARA) Region Three members.
Winter is coming to a close for us across the region, and after all the uncertainty of last year — coupled with the tight labor market and supply chain issues — we all should be poised for a really strong but incredibly hectic season.
While we're all busy, don't forget that boosting the skills of your employees always is important. The ARA Foundation can help you achieve that and save you money, too, through its Employee Training Assistance Program. This program can pay for 50 percent of the costs associated with the types of training that will build your employees' skills and keep your operation competitive. Who doesn’t like free money? There is still time to apply for a share of the $128,500 in scholarships being offered by the ARA Foundation and its affiliate partners for the 2022-2023 school year. Students enrolling at trade schools, community colleges, undergraduate colleges and graduate schools are eligible to apply. There are even some state-specific scholarships being offered by ARA chapters here in Region Three. Check out all the offerings and apply before the March 7 deadline.
While writing this quarterly newsletter message to you is one of my favorite activities, I am sad to report this is my last entry. My term as your regional director comes to an end in March. But fear not. John Scott from First Source Equipment Rentals, Burlington, N.C., will do an amazing job as your next Region Three director. I wish John all the best over the next three years.
The three years of my term as your ARA regional director have gone by very fast, especially with all the craziness in the world over the last two of those years. There has been a lot of travel, phone calls and meetings to discuss our issues and communicate our needs to people in positions that can help alleviate the pain caused by those issues. That work will go on, but I want to communicate to you that serving in this role has been an honor for me. I hope you saw value in my service on your behalf.
