To cap off a busy summer, members of the New Hampshire equipment and event rental community took advantage of the opportunity to treat their hardworking staff and families to a day at Canobie Lake Park, Salem, N.H., on Sunday, Aug. 29 — all at a discounted price courtesy of the ARA of New Hampshire.
More than 85 rides, games, attractions, and the new Castaway Island Water Park were on tap for participants like Anthony DeFlorio, owner, DeFlorio Enterprises, Loudon, N.H., and an ARA of New Hampshire board member. “We had a great time. I brought my wife and two boys, and my partner brought his son and daughter,” he says.
This year’s event was the second time the ARA of New Hampshire hosted its Family & Staff Appreciation Day at Canobie Lake Park, and for attendees like DeFlorio, a big draw was the uniqueness of the venue.
“Canobie Lake Park is the most authentic-feeling amusement park I've ever been to, including Disney,” he says. “Everything feels organic and real and all the restaurants inside are different, as opposed to serving the same hot dogs, hamburgers, etc., at every place like some parks do.”
