Greetings, American Rental Association (ARA) Region Two members, and welcome to fall in the mid-Atlantic. We recently closed the books on some outstanding member events and more great things are on the horizon to help us focus on the future of our businesses and the industry.
Our state chapters hosted some great summer get-togethers and although I wasn’t able to attend them all, I was able to make ARA of Maryland’s Crab Feast and ARA of New Jersey’s day at Six Flags. It was great to be able to see everyone in person and both events were well attended.

ARA of Pennsylvania hosted a day at the Ballgame with the Altoona Curve as well as a day at Hersheypark, and ARA of Virginia held its event at Kings Dominion. These events are great ways to show appreciation to your staff for their hard work and for a very reasonable cost. Many of our members invite all their staff and family members to attend.
I hope you will plan on attending your state chapter’s event next summer and keep an eye on your email for other educational and social events before then, like the ARA of Maryland’s meeting on Oct. 26 focusing on rental contract essentials and the steps you should take to achieve maximum return on debt.

Plans are coming along for The ARA Show™ in Orlando, February 11-15, 2023. Two new educational events will kick off this year’s show on Saturday, Feb. 11. Events & Tents has been replaced with the new EventsU, and Future of Equipment Rental will be offered for those in the equipment segment.
The show’s Sunday education sessions will offer content on a variety of topics for rental industry professionals at every level. Also, you won’t want to miss the keynote speaker who will open the trade show on Monday morning: Daymond John, CEO and founder of FUBU, a global lifestyle brand, and a star of ABC’s “Shark Tank.”

Finally, I would like to congratulate Courtney Tamuzza, general manager, A Party Center, Fairfield, N.J., who also serves on the ARA of New Jersey board of directors.
