Gibson steps up as ARA of Virginia president

Lee Gibson, president of Bay Equipment, which maintains locations in Chesapeake and Newport News, Va., has taken on the role of president of the ARA of Virginia board of directors. He succeeds Danny Showalter, president, CVR Rentals, Waynesboro, Va.

Bay Equipment was founded in 1984 by veterans of the construction equipment business and specializes in light construction equipment rental and sales for the specialty trades in eastern Virginia and northeast North Carolina.

Gibson has been the president of Bay Equipment for 18 years, while his family has been in the industry for more than 50 years. He spent a decade on a CEO advisory panel and has a strong technical skill set ranging from manufacturing to retail.

Gibson brought his professional experience to the ARA of Virginia board of directors when he joined the team in 2020, and he has served in the role of treasurer for the American Rental Association’s (ARA) state chapter since 2021.
