Hello, American Rental Association (ARA) Region Two members.
Summer has arrived here in the mid-Atlantic region and our membership has been reporting that the rental business continues to be strong despite the economic challenges our industry is facing.
As we enter a period of economic uncertainty, now more than ever we need to make sound business decisions when extending credit to our customers. ARA has partnered with BizCreditReports to offer members discounted commercial and proprietary reports based on information provided by Experian, a national credit bureau. Learn more about this service here.
In April, I had the pleasure of attending the ARA of Maryland’s meeting at Sugarplum Tents’ new location in Frederick, Md. Hats off to the ARA of Maryland board as well as Sugarplum’s staff on their hospitality. And there is more to come this summer at the local level. The board members of our ARA state associations have scheduled some great summer events, including:
- ARA of Pennsylvania’s Altoona Curve baseball game, Aug. 6, and Hersheypark social, Aug. 7.
- ARA of Maryland’s Crab Feast, Aug. 7.
- ARA of Virginia’s outing at Kings Dominion, Aug. 7.
- ARA of New Jersey’s outing at Six Flags Great Adventure, Aug. 21.
Watch your email for invitations and get details on these events inside this edition of In Your Region — make sure you sign up early.
Don’t forget to make sure you and your staff join ARAPAC, ARA’s political action committee. Supporting ARAPAC is one way you can help further the industry and make ARA the leading voice for rental. ARAPAC is free to join, and I hope you will sign up today. For more information, visit ARArental.org/ARAPAC.
Do you know someone who has made a profound impact on our industry? Who did you admire and wish to know better? Who provided a design or process that allowed you to be a better rental operator? Please nominate them for induction into the Rental Hall of Fame.
The Rental Hall of Fame is ARA’s most prestigious award recognition for those who have made significant contributions, improvements and innovations to the equipment and event rental industry at the national and/or international level. ARA is asking for your help in identifying those in our industry who deserve to be considered for induction into the Rental Hall of Fame. ARA general, associate and independent manufacturer representative members, living or deceased, are eligible.
ARA also is currently accepting nominations for the Industry Contributor Awards. These include the Industry Ambassador Award, the Exemplary Service Award and the Industry Impact Award. ARA general and associate members and independent manufacturer representatives are eligible. These awards recognize individuals who have demonstrated long-term leadership and service to the association, made a significant contribution in a defined area of association service and/or made a significant impact on the association or industry at the national, state or local levels.
You can get more information about the Rental Hall of Fame and Industry Contributor Awards and make your nominations here.
If you have any questions or suggestions on how our association might help you and your business be more successful, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me personally.
Enjoy your summer!
