Following a three-year, pandemic-enforced hiatus, the annual ARA of Oregon Crab Feed was back on Saturday, Feb. 12, at the Hallmark Resort Hotel in Newport, Ore.
Attendees of the event enjoyed the tasty crab feast along with education sessions themed around financial performance management courtesy of guest speaker Dan Crowley of Peer Executive Groups.
“The event was really fun,” says Shannon Botten, president, Botten’s Equipment & Event Rental, McMinnville, Ore., and ARA of Oregon president. “Dan's presentation was intriguing, well thought out and planned. He did a good job engaging our audience and it seemed many people got quite a bit out of it. People came up to my family throughout the event and the following day at breakfast sharing how happy they were that we held the event and that they had a great time.”
Attendees like Emily Lewis of Lewis Rents, Portland, Ore., come to the crab feed for the connections with industry friends, and this year’s event did not disappoint.
“It was such a nice day of sharing valuable ideas, meeting up with friends and a very informative speaker followed by a delicious crab-inspired dinner. Fun was had by all,” she says.
Botten seconds Lewis’ take on the event. “The networking is the best part of the crab feed! We were able to connect with new rental owners and one is even coming onto our ARA of Oregon board of directors,” she says.
