A lot has happened in the last year and we know so many rental operators spent 2020 learning new ways of doing business to meet customer needs and increase efficiency. Our team spent time learning, too. Our biggest takeaway? We learned how to optimize our online training by listening to feedback and putting ourselves in our members’ shoes to understand their Rental U experiences. Then, the fun started. We dove into learning more about the user experience (UX) and user interface (UI) of RentalU and we changed the entire thing! Here’s what you can expect when logging into the upgraded version of RentalU. Better layout with less confusion We laid out the dashboard to give you a clear-cut direction. If you want to view the courses you’ve enrolled in just click on the My Courses button. If you’re new to rental and are unsure which courses you should be taking, click on the button Getting Started in Rental. We made it possible, with some help from our UX research, to get you where you need to be by helping you navigate the RentalU website within three clicks. Customized content While there may be some similarities, we understand training can differ between the event rental industry and equipment rental industry. So, we’ve diligently customized the member dashboards to reflect each industry segment. Now, when searching by inventory category, you’ll only see products pertinent to your type of industry and business. Clearly marked resources By consolidating pages and clearly marking resource types, we’ve made it easier for you to find what the courses you’re looking for. If you’re looking for information about forklifts, you’ll navigate to the forklift inventory page. There, you’ll see courses, videos, downloadable PDFs, and any content uploaded by fellow American Rental Association members. Some things stay the same Although we’ve made some new and exciting changes, you’ll still be able to use some favorite features like uploading content to share with your peers, finding tutorials about maximizing your RentalU experience, and asking us questions. You’ll still find RentalU to be the only place to go for rental-specific training. We hope you enjoy the new RentalU!
