Kylie Coffey of Busy Bee Jumpers & Tents in Whitman, Massachusetts, whose father James Coffey is the owner, is majoring in business administration at Keene State College in Keene, New Hampshire. Kylie received the Leonard Hawk Founders Scholarship worth $3,000, which is the ARA Foundation's highest single award. It is named after ARA Founder Leonard Hawk. "The scholarship will provide me with access to numerous new ideas, people and places. It will allow me to learn and grow in ways that I probably do not even realize today."

Elizabeth Gajewski of Party Plus Tent & Event Rentals in Biddeford, Maine, whose mother Susan is the president, is majoring in business management and accounting at Assumption College in Worcester, Massachusetts. Elizabeth received the ARA Insurance scholarship worth $2,500 and an ARA Foundation undergraduate scholarship worth $2,000 for a total scholarship award of $4,500. "This generous scholarship will enable me to attend Assumption College and work towards a degree in business management, which I can put to use in my family's rental business."

 

 

Since it began in 1976, the ARA Foundation has supported the rental industry’s educational needs by offering scholarships. In the early days, these were for improving the business and technical skills of those in the rental industry. As times have changed, so has the scholarship program.
 

ARA Foundation Scholarships

Applications for the 2014/2015 scholarship program are due on March 3, 2014.

ARA Foundation Scholarship applications

Undergraduate scholarship application-for those attending a 4 year college in an undergraduate course of study.

Vocational/Technical scholarship applicaton-for those attending a vocational or technical program at a community college or technical school.

Graduate scholarship application-for those attending a certified institution working on a  master degree program.

The Leonard Hawk Founders Scholarship

The top scholarship applicant is awarded the $3,000 Leonard Hawk Founders Scholarship, named in honor of the American Rental Association's founding president.

Affiliate Scholarships

The Foundation administers scholarships for ARA Insurance Services, ARA of Alabama, ARA of California, ARA of Michigan, ARA of New York, ARA of North Carolina, ARA of Ohio, ARA of Tennessee, the Texas Rental Association, the Bill Loomer Houston Area Rental Association Scholarship for the Texas Rental Association, the Ron Marshall Scholarships for ARA Region Two, and the Doug Mitchell Scholarship and Dorothy Wellnitz Scholarship for ARA Region 10/Canada.
