On Oct. 6, 2020, the American Rental Association (ARA) sent letters to the U.S. Treasury and key members of the U.S. House of Representatives and Senate expressing the need for a new coronavirus (COVID-19) relief package to help struggling equipment and event rental businesses. The letters — signed by Tony Conant, ARA CEO — were sent to:

  • Steven Mnuchin, secretary, U.S. Department of the Treasury
  • Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi
  • House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy
  • Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell
  • Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer

Each letter urges “Congress and the administration to complete negotiations on a new coronavirus relief package that provides much needed support for businesses that have a long runway to recovery. One way to help these businesses survive is to create a new long-term, low-interest capital loan program for these businesses.”
