Foundation Disaster Relief and Recovery Programs
When you’re part of the rental industry, you’re part of a family you can count on for help and advice.
Disaster Relief Program
In the aftermath of Hurricanes Katrina and Rita in 2005, a rental industry relief fund was created to assist rental businesses that incurred severe damage from these hurricanes.
More than $200,000 was received from throughout the rental industry, with grants of more than $190,000 distributed in November 2005. The remaining funds serve as seed money for the Foundation’s ongoing disaster relief program to assist those affected in future disasters.
Disaster Recovery Program
To offer assistance for individual rental businesses affected by a natural disaster, the ARA Foundation launched a disaster recovery program to provide a variety of resources for businesses that have been devastated by tornado, hurricane, flood, earthquake, wildfire, mudslide or fire. Individuals from businesses affected by disasters can receive assistance ranging from phone advice and support to on-site and hands-on help to get the business running again. Those providing these services will be rental business owners who have been through a similar disaster.
The cost of the services provided through the disaster recovery program (up to an established, set value) will be covered by the Foundation. The program is for ARA member and non-member businesses alike.
For more information or to utilize the program, contact Jenni Venema, ARA Foundation director of development, at 800-334-2177, ext. 236, or jennifer.venema@ararental.org.
